I agree!! And what about those aisles in the grocery store?!?! Can't people follow the rules and stay on their side?!?! LOL!

Can't say I ever heard of anyone ever being killed or injured in a collision in the grocery store aisle.

So being a corrections officer makes you a better snowmobiler?!?! These responses crack me up! Great entertainment....

Those of you who are tired of reading these posts and are whining about the "whiners"....why do you bother to read them?

Right on I hammer my kids when they started to stay right , when I came up as kids no traffic we would power slide every corner Yaa can't doo that anymore , what wakes Yaa up is when you start riding with ur wife and kids and who wants to run into one of them

Great post Vin. Being a corrections officer may not make you a better snowmobiler, but you are definitely trained to deal with punks, young or old.

I have a possible solution, how bout we start marking trails as "family" or racing" even color code the signs, so that way the ones that want to go 100 and risk crashing head on in a collission can kill themselves, and the family riders can have there trails and absolutly no racers on those trails or there fined by the DNR. I know this would be next to impossible, but just a thought, besides it would be tough to caterogize someone that rides like me, in between, I ride fast but with caution and respect.

Well put Vin. I am sure that being a corrections officer does not make Vin a better snowmobiler. That does not matter thou as he is already an excellent snowmobiler. I will say I would want Vin on my side for any confrontation.

Vin's post is right on. Seems many posts start out as a "be careful" or "caution" topic and people interpret it as complaining. One posted by Krupps talked about private property and quickly became a compliant post. Krupp wasnt complaining, just stating the facts about its private property, stay off it.
Having said that, its off to Minocqua Sun-Wed for probably my last trip of the year! Ride safe everyone!

Thanks BigVin, I think by saying what you did shows that you are a better snowmobiler in the fact that you tell it like it is.Maybe a few more of us will figure out that it isn't all about me, and give the respect to those that are out on the trails whether newbies or most experienced Ricky Racers.Hats off to all that make everybody's trails happen!

Right on the money Vin & Kudos to you my friend. Jakester, I believe the JAGS are the posters of late that like to stir the pot on this site. I would hope that the Mods will take note & start to pull the plug on these troubled tools.-Mezz

Artic Cat use to make a sled for these guys--They were called JAGS!!

It is a proven fact that when someone has no ability to vocalize an opinion or position, they resort to name-calling. BTW, the 1981 Jag 4000 was a great machine.....and I'm sure there were times when someone rode one left of center. :p

seems like i have been giving the arm thrust to the left signal, while i ski rub the rt side berm, alot more this season.

I even drift over into them once i see they are moving back over to give them a taste of my view.

So a corrections officer threatning someone with violence on the trail is better than ricky racer driving fast on the trail. Everyone needs to slow down breath and have a good time. Ricky stay right. Vin stay off the doughnuts and roids.

Everyone enjoy the trails.

Sorry,... but if THAT is all you and a couple others got from reading my response,....
I'm sure glad I didn't go to YOUR school.
Give it a rest.

Just my .02,
The clowns that get me are the #2 rider in the pack , the lead dog's ( so far this year ) have been courteous, it's the #2 riders that are swerving all about ( ??? ) due to the slow down from the lead dog when approaching on-coming traffic that has concerned me most this year. Seems to be more prevalent than I can remember in past years.

May just be my imagination, who knows. I'm trying to keep everyone safe, especially with the sign reduction.

Bigvin I agree with you 100%. I had a guy come into my place telling me a guy passed him on the Bill Nichols Trail while he was doing 70 mph. Let's see who sticks up for that IDIOT.

I see that You have been making comments like this on most posts where someone is "stating a fact" or
"venting" a bit. Really, if you are so sick of reading about this stuff,.... then DON'T READ IT!
Maybe YOU and YOUR FAMILY should have a life-changing event or near death experience on the trails,....
and you might change your tune.
I just HAD to jump in here folks. But what We really don't need are more,..."pot-stirrers"
Snowmobiling is everything to me and my family,..... and the last thing I or a lot of my friends that visit this
fine site need is someone telling them to quit whining about a real-life experience they would like to share.

How can we fix the things we seem to complain about that we experience out there on the trails?
I don't know if we can.
Maybe it will have to take multiple head on corner collisions? ect.,....
Wether ya want to admit it or not,.... the sleds are made for power and comfort today.
In the "old" days,... a 440 was the BIG DOG! anything bigger was considered Wow! a "racing machine"
Last week, a buddy an me put on some nice mileage locally. In (2) instances when we stopped,... (once for
gas,... the other for a scenic overlook stop),... 2 seperate groups of riders (4 or 5 in group) were overheard
saying things like,.... "Hey, if Billy can't keep it over 60,...next time he stays home",......and another was
"Holy crap!,... when I was flying around the corner,... I almost tagged that dude!",.... (laughing about it).
Well,... when I heard that,... I turned around and looked at the "kid" and asked: REALLY? and then gave him
a piece of my mind. He,... of course didn't want to HEAR it,.... and was like,..."whatever dude".
I think it comes down to how one is "trained" and brought up riding,... and how to properly follow "good examples".

Not trying to pick battles,... but in all reality,.... do we really need all those studs on our tracks,...
so we can "hook up" coming into and or out of corners at High Speeds?
Maybe that feeling of Whoaaaa! was that corner slippery! Maybe I should ease off the throttle a bit,....
be more of a common thing,..... (a reminder so to say)
I caught up with a group taking a smoke break at an intersection after witnessing a couple of them just
TRASH a section of trail by selectively "pinning it" with fully picked tracks. I let THEM know how I felt also,....
and they were like,...."geez dude,.... chill out"
I could tell ya a lot more REAL instances,..... but I think you get where I'm coming from.

So as long as people like Snox128 want to share something that concerns them,....
I'll read about it,... and to myself,....reflect on my same past similar experiences.
And to ME,.... this is the perfect SUPPORT GROUP to vent with.

I have met MANY friends on HERE that I will stand up for in Any battle!
So if ya don't want to hear about it,..... Well,........
I hope I don't "Run In To You" on the Wrong side of the trail!
as a 380 lb 6'5" corrections officer,..... I think I can hold my own.

Now,....
My appologies for my "comment venting",.....
but as long as they make standard sleds that are as comfortable as your easy chair,....
and go 100+ right out of the crate,..... and are put in the "arms of the uncontrollables",....
Will we Ever see a change?

Think LOTS of snow out there friends,.....
Enjoy every minute you get with Your family and friends out there sledding,.....
and BE SAFE,....
So You can enjoy Next season also!

Next,..............
