STOP means STOP-DNR to patrol Greenland area

Our group got a ticket a couple years ago. That followed a warning from a couple years before that. I got mad at first, then realized there was nothing to get mad about - it was a clearly marked stop sign, and we rolled right through it.

What did bug me was the DNR's attitude. Seriously, some of these officers just seem to thrive on being jerks to others...

Not defending the officer, and definitely not saying you were impolite....from your post it seems like you are a responsible guy. But, keep in mind, that for every polite and civil person the officer comes in contact with, there are several more who probably aren't. Doesn't take too long before they can develop an attitude. Not saying it's right or wrong, it's just how it is. Some are better than others at keeping their emotions in check. I know this from firsthand experience in the public service business.
