8" as of 8 am this morning, another 4" so far today, it has picked up in intensity a bit, probably another 1-3 before it ends tonight.

Drove past a few trail crossings and the trails looked like mid-Jan. Just mint (to use the old '80's term). Temps will be shooting above freezing with sunshine tomorrow, so roads will become bare quickly, but trails will remain good. We still had 2-2.5 feet of base on most of the trails north of the bridge before this storm.

Over a foot in Houghton so far. There is so much fresh snow that without groomers running it might turn into a bit of a too much snow problem in regards to the trails! But hey, it is April - ride now or wait until December. Sure beats sitting at home and staring at mud in my opinion.

Thanks guys. Its official, not gonna happen for me this weekend. Out of my 4 snowmobiling buddies not one can make it work out. Even tried recruiting non snowmobiling buddies into renting and coming up! Shame as I've been watching this forecast of this storm all week hoping it'd pan out and I'd be coming up. Time to throw the cover on the sled and forget about it until next year...or later this month.
