Six snowmobilers from Minnesota are unharmed after spending a night stuck in the Wyoming backcountry near Togwotee Pass in the Bridger-Teton National Forest.

Max Jacoby, Richie Jacoby, Kyle Ryman, Aaron Peine, Brent Zeien and Travis Krinkle of Hastings, Minn., were found 11 miles southwest of Togwotee Mountain Lodge on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Jackson Hole News & Guide, the group rented snow machines at the lodge Tuesday and did not return at the end of the day.

Teton County Undersheriff Bob Gilliam says the six men were experienced snowmobilers who got stuck in deep snow. When they could not get out by dark, they spent the night in the backcountry and built a fire to stay warm.

Sounds like they were well prepared to ride in the out west backcountry. Hopefully others take note.

Hope they didn't get charged $2/min after 5:00PM for a late rental return. Ouch.

Sounds like they were prepared well enough to be able to spend the night and come out of it OK. Good example for anyone riding off-trail.
