Just purchased a 07' IQ 600 CFI this spring. I have only had carbureted motors up to this. How are people summerizing these motors? I've read on some forums of people having issues with the senors going out in the fall when they start them up. So basically I'm just looking for some answers of how other people are fogging their motors.

Spray fogging oil in the spark plug holes. Pull it over a few times without the plugs in. Spray some more in and put plugs in. And then whatever else you normally do, drain gas, silicone spray or wd-40 or whatever else you use on the external parts. Never had any sensors go out here.
fill tank, use stabil and start sled every couple months. Been working so far with 03 f-7 fi, 06 600 switch cfi, and the 3 2008 700 rmk, 1 2009 700 rmk and 1 2009 800 assault. Do the same with the carb motors too. I haven't had any problems storing the sleds this way since 1974 when My Dad stored his TX500 with Klotz in the gas and it didn't have the corrosion inhibitors. My sled which was also a TX500 had polaris blue in it and stored the same way only my crank didn't rust. I used polaris blue until 2001 and then switched to yamalube2/citgo S&S since then with no problems. There is no need to over complicate storage but a cool dry covered place, stabil and starting them every so often to keep fresh fuel in the system and fill the tank to reduce condensation inside the tank.

Any way you do it as stated here is fine. I don't have the chance to start my sleds in the summer thats why I take out as much gas as possible and oil the cylinders. Been doing it for over 30 years this way so it works for me I guess. Moth balls in the covered trailer is also on my list.
Fill sled with 92 octane gas start once a month in the morning when it is cool let it run 5 to 10 minutes spin track and your good, then in Oct or Nov drain out gas use for mowers or snowblower fill with fresh gas and you will not have problems, this has worked the best for me in the last 20 years. this way you will not have flat spots on your drive belt, track and it cycles all the fluids in your lines. It works great on the fuel injection witch I own 2, and also the old carb sleds. If you drain your sled and lines its ok also but in a few years you can have cracked fuel lines from dry rot and flat spots on track and drive belt. Also grease all suspension parts in the spring then no rust sets up and all water comes out from the winter.
This is why I will never buy used sleds ever, people never take care of them or grease them old gas, most always major wear on parts before replacing them.
My friend fixes sleds for a living he likes people to leave gas in the lines never start them until winter or drain them and have cracked lines then he makes a lot of money in repairs. People become more lazy every year.

wow i guess i am doing it all wrong. All i have ever done to my 2005 ZR900 EFI is spray oil down the cylinders spray the engine compartment and suspension down with wd40 to prevent rust and leave it low on fuel, fill it up with premium in the fall. Never had a problem with it in 5000 miles

Be very careful about use of additives. While most things can take the additives running thru the system, leaving this material in the carbs, fuel lines and in contact with parts that don't like it can do more harm than good.
More important than this is to be sure you store the sleds in something that doesn't get hot as he!! in the day and cool at night. There are things in gasoline right from the refineries that do a decent job of stabilizing your gas and if you put these sleds somewhere in the shade and better yet start them once in awhile, without the additives, you aren't likely to have plastic parts desintigrate in the fuel tank over long periods of storage.
I have stored my efi sleds since 2001 in cool places and run them once or twice over the long summer and have yet to have a problem. (sometimes 5 months between)
I do use stabil in gasoline that is NOT in the tank and stuck in a fuel filter, fuel pump, carb/ injectors. Only in cruise cans and gas cans....Maybe it won't hurt them much, but maybe it would and you would feel like a dummy to be causing more harm than good wouldn't you?? Some of the solvents can react with all the different parts in a sled. You can't hurt things pulling the oiler back and fogging it up but aside from that...I would be careful.

Way to easy to read to deep into this one. I park them in a cool dry, mouse free building. start them every month for a few minutes to about warm up level. Grease zerts, etc. Do not leave outside all summer uncovered. (I can't believe that people do this). I suspect those are the ones who whine their sled brand is junk.
