It is kinda nice living in a neighborhood full of seniors, They watch my place better than a pit bull. But I still checked my trailer this morning. Sorry to hear the loss.

Not necessarily related to your particular situation but, on the way home from the UP yesterday we had seen a truck, with a sled in the bed, pulled over by 3 police. One officer was up by the truck and the other two were tucked behind the first police car with the hands near there weapons. Made we wonder if the truck or sled was stolen? Looked a like a fairly serious situation.....

I do hope you find these people! Karma will get them in the long run!

got a ? for you do you park your trailer back end facing the street or do you pull it up against your house? I think if you would back your trailer next to your house as close as you can and have it locked and something parked in front of it this may not happen . Also have all your toys insured never know when this may happen. I hope you find your sled and find out who did this to wish we had a smoking snowmobile stealer page and post there photos on it to Just a thought !!!

Normally its blocked in-for sure every night but this was Friday during the day! forgot to lock the padlock not that that would of stopped um!
His new 11 crossfire was in the garage and insured and the trailer is covered too but he didnt even think to put coverage on the little Z120- its usually in the garage and the whole works are normally in our pole shed!
our buddys sled wasnt insured and we didnt know it till it was gone and we called the guy! now my brother has to buy him a new sled because he had borrowed it for the new years weekend and it was still in the trailer!
I think I'll buy one of those hitch locks sugested in this tread!

Thanks for the support and keeping a look out for us!
Great group of Peeps here on DEE!

Just a thought(but none of my business)...I would give him the money for whatever the agreed price of the sled is. I would be worried about buying another and it grenades on him, he might not be real happy then.

Got my hitch lock at Fleet Farm too, about three years ago! It would be pretty hard to remove it fast that's for sure! I had mine freeze up once after a rain event then sub-zero temps, I was in a hurry to head north so I took a jug of HOT tap water and that worked great.

Simple solution. I just remove the coupler from the trailer. Takes less then 30 seconds to remove and re-install. Nothing valuable is left in the trailer either.

the thing is this buddy only uses the sled once or twice a year and leaves it with us alot to use for "kids, wives, etc" so we maintain it for him and store it in our shed most of the time!
Plus if he found his own sled it it blew up we would be the ones rebuilding it any ways!
