I like many have noticed web cams being down and scottiking had posted that Nora was working on getting them up and going again, I thought it again time to send out a big THANK YOU and I don't think I speak for myself here either but deep gratitude and appreciation not only to Nora but to all the behind the scene people and the moderators who continue to keep this site and Johns vision and the family feel this site has created alive. Thank you to all for your hard work and commitment!

Totally agree! Johndee.com is the homepage on my laptop and the first thing I check every morning. It would be very strange not to have this website around.

Like a lot of you out there, I’ve been a member for over 20 years. Through this site I’ve made a lot of friends, been introduced to some unforgettable characters, enjoyed the experiences, photos, and videos people have shared and have had the opportunity to share some of mine.

I’ve also felt sadness to learn of the loss of members, like frnash and snowdance, and of course, the man himself. On this site, members seem to be able to connect on a much more personal level than any other sledding site.

Thank you, Nora, for keeping John’s dream alive and thanks to the moderators and especially Gary_in_Neenah for all the site work he does to help maintain the best bulletin board on the web.

Well said by both of you. This is a great site and like said before seems to be on a more personal level then the bigger sled sites.

We much appreciate your kind words. The very fact that we can address each other on a first name basis on here is a testament to the levels of respect we have for one another. It's something John had set the tone for, and I think he'd be pleased with the outcome. JohnDee.com is the first site I see each morning with my first cup of coffee. Mostly to ensure that everything is running smoothly, but almost daily, a topic will pop up of general interest. If a question arises, I can assure you that there will be a response from someone with past experience. Namely due to the size of our audience.

After John's passing I was given access to the website mechanics. The inner workings are where the columns are generated along with graphics and just about everything that makes this thing work. I always assumed that the size of our audience fluctuated with the seasons. That's to be expected. But I had no idea of how large the reach is for JohnDee.com

We get an average of 1.5 million hits a day. Our average page views are around 300,000 to 400,000 a day and average unique visitors are between 35,000 and 40,000 a day. Those aren't recent numbers and they do rise and fall with the seasons.

Those numbers tell me we're doing something right. This is a place you can come to for the latest tech, vintage, trip planning, problem solving, or just to read the latest joke in the Smiles column. It's not a place you'll be attacked by a keyboard bully and as John once said,
"If you would not say it in front of your mom or grandmother or minister, then do not say it here!"
Again, on behalf of Ownership and Staff, thank you for making SnowCentral a most popular destination for snowmobilers and winter enthusiasts. Were glad to have you with us!
Think Snow!!

That's not in my wheelhouse but I'm told that ownership is aware and working on a solution. I might add that the Cams have been troublesome in the past and require on-going maintenance.
oh yes. fully aware of that ongoing issue. If I remember correctly it's almost always an issue with the individual camera owners

I also appreciate the hours of work done by the various people that keep this site going. Prior to my retirement 3.5 years ago, I was a daily visitor to this site, but now, I only visit once or twice a week. Go figure! It still is part of my routine and I look forward to browsing the forum when I log on. THANK YOU!

Hello all, I have been talking with Nora for quite some time and I will be helping with the site and cameras and other things as much as I’m capable of
I have started a bit already and we have my camera at the Lakeshack up and running and also the Mosquito inn’s camera is up also
Once I get going I hope to go though all the cams and either make sure folks have their cameras up and running or their snowflakes will be melted off the page- this may take awhile but hope to get them up again
I talked to John about managing them and he always said it was a challenge but I’m up for it and will try my best
We have also discussed having more journals
Some from Nora and Grace to having (us) write guest journals to sharing (memory) journals from the past
I’m sure John is smiling down knowing that we all can keep his passion alive
Anyways I’m not a great writer and not the sharpest pencil in the drawer but I’ll do my best!
