I was thinking the same thing. Maybe we will be lucky enough to get the the thaw early before the trails get pulverized. Let the warmer temps settle everything down, cooler temps mid week fallowed by snow end of the week. My cottage is up in boulder Jct. and one of the better seasons we had up there was about 5 years ago. It was sort of a low snow year but the ribbon smooth base formed early, no melt downs and lake effect dustings to wake up to every morning. The trails were as smooth at 4 in the afternoon as they were at 9 in the morning and just enough snow to keep everything covered and beautiful.Since no way to avoid the warm up & rain maybe the ground snow will turn to an ice base in Vilas. Since trails don't open until December 10th no risk of traffic taking the base to mud. I'm hopeful just don't want to lose all the snow.![]()
