I finally got my Cougar 550 running yesterday after it went into dormancy last winter (I think) when it lost spark... I finally bought the trigger coil and got that put on yesterday. I officially put on 1.6 miles and the total mileage is now at 11,045
Can't complain bout this sled...
1 set pistons
1 reman jug
1 used lighting coil
1 new trigger coil
1 new primary clutch
water pump seal
Its only stranded me twice. Once when the waterpump seal blew out and last year when it lost spark.
I finally got scared and replaced the pistons at about 7,000 miles, On one piston the pin was missing that holds the rings in place so had to have a jug repaired.
