600_RMK_144 where did you stay at in the Black Hills when you went??

Mystic Hills Hideaway is our favorite. A bit further away from all the traffic (but we prefer it that way). One thing to be aware of is that they do NOT have 91 fuel available (we bring gas cans to top off). Some guys like to stay in-town where there are several hotel options and night-life (bars, casinos), but that’s not our thing. We are there to ride. Most of the time you can’t ride from town anyway, so you have to trailer up if you stay in town. Other lodging options on The Hill include: Trailshead Lodge, Spearfish Canyon Lodge, Rec. Springs or Mt. Meadow (a bit more off the beaten path). Of those, the only other one we have personally stayed at is Rec. Springs. They have gone thru some good times and bad (Management). When we stayed there in 2013, it was so bad that we actually turned them in to the BBB (rental sleds were a serious safety risk). That said, we did stop at Rec Springs on three different occasions this year and there were no issues. Air BNBs are an option as well and you can get them to lower their rates significantly during the winter as they don’t get a lot of bookings. We looked into The Miner’s Den and Dream Believer (both pretty close to Rec Springs). Ultimately we ended up at Mystic Hills for both trips this year and have stayed there in years past as well. Trailshead Lodge is a great destination for lunch, but too busy IMO to be our lodging option. Hit me up if you have any other questions. Certainly no expert, but I’ve been out there 5-6 times now and know a little.
