chap72 I get what you are saying,I agree but as a business I don't think it will last to long without it, and I would really like to see them make it. It is a great place to stop between Watersmeet and the Bruces crossing/ Kenton area.

I hope they get their license soon. When they do open, we should spread the word to the best of our ability so their business is strong. The food was always good there and it was a good place to fill up with gasoline. I think the new owners will make it. Da Flowage was always busy when snow conditions were good. I think the key is to get more people to visit during the non-winter months. I have to think thousands of people visit Bond Falls during the non-winter months. If they can get some of those people to stop by after seeing The Falls it would really help the bottom line.

Sure hope this place opens up again, and stays open. Was always a great place to stop in and eat. We always rode the forest roads up from Iron River to the Flowage. Its been a few years since I have been there.

Coming up to Land O this Wed thru Sun. The Flowage was one of our fav stops, used to love riding up the back way with Phil from Sunrise to have lunch before heading north and looping west and then south to the Black Oak for dinner then back to Sunrise. I hope they open this week that would be great!

Thanks mrsrunningbear! That is very generous of you. With all the intererst on this site about their opening date I think they will do well. When they do open, will the groomer be able to groom 5350 from trail 107 to Da Flowage?

That is Iron River that grooms the 107. Hmmm I don't know if Randy and Cheryl know that. I sure hope they will be able to get it worked out. Otherwise it's a little ditch bang'in down the side of Bond Falls Rd. thats how we do it :D

Grooming 5350

Talked with Randy on newyears about grooming and he was trying to get in touch the iron river I just think he is waiting until everything is final because they will have to pay extra to have it done.

Da Flowage Pub

According to the owners it won't be this weekend. Apparently The Michigan Liquor License Commission meets every Wednesday to grant liquor licenses. Da Flowage's request was not on the docket this week. They call every Tuesday to see if they are the docket for Wednesday. Hopefully next week!

They also need to get signage on both Trail 3 & 107 to get as much trail traffic as they can. I found the Flowage was closed after we took a couple to see Bond Falls 2 years ago in the Fall. They have to be able to pull in people that come to see the Falls year around don't know why they can't? We ended up going to Strongs but I guess that closed too & they had the best italian beef.

Go to the Bergland Bay Bar for the best beef in that area! IMO

That is the problem 30+ miles to Bergland from Bond Falls & we where spending afternoon in BJ so wives could do the shops. Bond Falls has visitors every day year round & needs good place to eat & drink near by. Da Flowage should make it not sure at all why it failed since excellent location & no competition. Should be raking in the $$$.

If they get the right signs up, have good food and good service it's going to work and with some help from us I think they'll make it! They closed the year we bought the Running Bear and we were crushed. It will make such a difference for our business people ask all the time when the call where's the closest food. People thought we were crazy buying the Running Bear they had fall hunting business and that was it, no summer business on the books at all. Well we changed that and I think the Flowage can too!!

old trail to da flowage pub?

where exactly is the old trail 5350, off 107? is that the old forest road...? we were coming south on 107 from Kenton, this past week, and only saw a red flag, on a sign.....

..... not sure, so we decided to go further south to 150, and take trail 3 back north to Bond Falls Rd.....
