In the winter? What do you do if it snows 8-12"? Wait a minute, it never does that anymore! Seriously, you could be stranded somewhere pretty easy.

Probably not much different than any other 2wd vehicle with a proportionately sized trailer.

If it snows 8 - 12" while he is driving north, he can pull the accord with his sled instead.

Really though, I'm interested because I am without a tow vehicle of my own right now. If I don't get that straightened out soon, and I get in a position where I need to go north on my own, I might do the same thing with my Altima. I probably wouldn't though, since I have a CVT tranny rather than a manual, and no one really knows how durable those things are yet.

I had to pic Dodge altho I rather have had a selection for Cummins as I never call it a Dodge nor Ram, actually there are things I do not like about my Dodge but had to buy it as it was the only thing to pull with a Cummins other than a big rig.

Well, if I do get stranded, the sled is full of gas, and my gear is in the car.

But seriously, it handles pretty good, and front wheel drive does just fine. I made 3 trips with this setup last winter, twice I was driving up north (MN and WI) while it was snowing. How many times have you had to drive in more than a couple inches on an unplowed highway anymore?

I had no problem getting into and out of both locations I went with a good 6" of snow on an unplowed back road...... Guess I better get some pics.

Armada and 4runner

I voted for Nissan because that pulls the 7X23 inclosed, but the 4runner pulls the 2 place for shorter trips. Only pics I have are pulling the summer toy. Armada MC.jpg MC-Yota.jpg

Just thought I'd chime in, I used to have car with hitch, worked OK but decided to get old beater p.u.

1999 s-10 278,000 miles. $800 long box,

it was a plunketts (pest control) truck and service records are great, had just about everything replaced in last 3 years. the long box will haul the sled if it's just me or 2 place with one in the box if I'm going with buddy's. the 2.2 4cyl struggles to get up big hills like in duluth, mn on the way home but will do it. got 19 mpg with it last year hauling 2 on the trailer to MI and back.

Bought it last year used all last winter, had to do an alignment this spring and needed 2 ball points but so far that's all i've done besides gas and an oil change. well actually I did a custom paint job with rattle can spray bedliner from the rocker panel on down, that cost me $36.

I figured the cost of the truck was about the same as a tranny, plus ever since I got rid of my 1/2 ton chevy, been looking for a reason to get another P.U.

What color were the "ball points"? Blue, black, or red?
