), but I may have something you might be interested in. I remember you mentioned that you were planning on adding a stand-by generator to the house. It just so happens that I came across a 10kw Generac unit recently, with a Briggs and Straton engine on it. It has only 75 hrs of run time on it. It is a natural gas unit but can also run on LP. A bearing went bad in the alternator (the part that makes the electricity) and it caused some internal damage. I am not sure of the extent of damage yet, but I'm sure I could repair it.
Do you have any idea what your load requirements are going to be? 10kw can give you several critical circuits, but probably not enough to run the whole house. Would you have any interest in a used 10kw unit, or are you looking for something more?
