OK, I'll get this thing started. Let's keep it clean & friendly, remember to follow John Dee's rules of posting your thoughts.

The Green Bay Packers will meet the Chicago Bears Sunday for the NFC Championship Game. The game will be held in Chicago at 1pm CST on FOX.

Packers vs Bears is the NFL’s longest rivalry, spanning 89 years. This will be only the second time the two have met in the NFC Championship game. The last time was the day before the attack on Pearl Harbor, December of 1941.

The Packers and Bears finished the 1941 season with identical 10-1 records. They had each accounted for the other's only loss, and so a one-game playoff was required to determine the Western Division champion. The Bears won 33-14 at Wrigley Field.

Can't wait for next weekend. This is what the NFC title is all about 2 good teams, cold weather, the old black and blue division, and the longest greatest rivalry in all of sports. Papa Bear Halas and Vince Lombardi are up there smiling and ribbing each other right now. If we can get some snow for gameday it will only add to the moment!

Who ever wins will be coming bruised and battered. It is going to be a tough physical game and turn overs and penalities will make the difference.

It dosen't get any better than this. What a week it is gonna be for both cities, and for us here on JD. Remember when Ditka ran the Fridge at us years ago? Maybe we can return the favor and run the Freezer, (Raji), back at em!!! GO PACKERS!!! All the way to Dallas!!!

GO BEARS!!!!! Or if the pack wins I want to see Rodgers speech: " I would like to thank Brett Farve for this inspiration. I want to thank Ted for the awesome pat on the azz before the game. Thanks to all you cheese heads, without you I would become more intelligent....." Thats all I care about. Oh and if you could not tell I am a Queens fan.....

Oh I am sorry slimcake, what happened with your team? Oh yeah thats right from first to worst in a year with the promise from the old Gunslinger Super Bowl or bust. Good One! Keep wearing those Wrangler Open Flies!

Aaron Rogers is in a different league separate from Brent and his Gunslinging ways. The monkey was taken off his back from that clinic with the Falcons last night. Rodgers is better than Brent and I hope Brent's name goes on the Humpty Dome than on the hallowed walls of Lambeau for almost taking the Vikes to the Super Bowl.

I am finally seeing the method to Ted's madness and it is working!

"Why do you ponder passing? You can take a knee and kick a 56 yard fieldgoal! This isn't Detroit man, it's the Super Bowl!"

I am sorry too soon?

Looks about right to me.

Let me clear up your confusion.....

What happened in 1941 will have no bearing on the 2011 NFC Championship game.

Your welcome.

A couple of thoughts here:

Slimcake, Ummm Cheesehead is one word. Thought I'd mention it before Nash did.

Maybe John could offer up an Official JohnDee Weather Forecast for the game in Chicago. What say you, John?

To me, this IS the Superbowl! The game in Dallas is so much more about entertainment than football. The over-produced halftime show, Red Carpet for the Hollywood types. Heck, even Obama is part of the Pregame show. (now there's a reason to go riding before the game, to avoid the politicians)

The Championship in Chicago is the kind of game that our Grandfathers would go to see. In the cold, played on frozen dirt, a flask in your pocket watching Hallas, Lombardi, Ditka, & Hornung. This is a rare opportunity for our generation to revisit that special time with the players of today. I can't wait for Sunday!

The attached pics are from the 1941 Championship. Go Packers!
