The Other Place Bar and Grille closed in Iron River WI

That's a bummer. It just makes me sick to my stomach when I'm up north and I see business after business either closed or been for sale for 2 years. People's livelihoods and life savings...gone. This economy sucks and needs to turn around! I've been to The Other Place several times and it was always great. It seems IR in particular has seen more than its fair share of businesses going out in the past 5 years.

Wow I'm surprised. Yes, that is the place with the huge bloodies. I gave them my business a few times this season.

This is so sad. I remember when Bob, and Barb had the place. We used to kid Bob about not giving up the ingredents to the best burger in the northland. After Bob past away, we really missed his and Barb's personal touch / comments when we would walk in the door, and when you were leaving not to mention all the time spent talking with them during our visists. The new owners were great, never really had a chance to get to know them, and so sad they could not keep the legend going. I feel somewhat guilty as we did not get to the other place but three times in the past 3 years. IR used to be our stompping grounds for 4 wheeling, snowmobiling, and Motor cycle trips, but we just don't take the trips like we used to. I think that is the case with alot of people due to gas prices, and economy in general, now leads to a few trips a year verses 5 or 6 like we used to.

The middle class is doing fine I was told. Why then did 2 out of the 5 eating places in my town close because of the economy?
