Touché Pr1,nice return. Cooksend,I was looking at a few of your videos. There are a few areas you are playing in,that look very familiar. You need too sniff the trees before you go and play. I'm like a dog, I think you were in my territory .:)

First of all, decapitation wire is NEVER a good idea even more so when you don't own the land, probably don't even have permission to ride there in the first place, or very possibly are actually trespassing.

What do you think those signs "stay on trail" mean? You go around those and that makes it O.K.?

You want to be a hero and climb a mountain, go out west. Seriously, our hills here in the U.P. aren't that big and even in a good snow year the base seldom exceeds 3-4 feet. Under ideal conditions that might be enough, but what usually happens is that gets tore down to the ground and the damage begins.

There is visible damage to almost every steep roadside from South Range to Mass City caused by snowmachines and ATV's. Many thousands of our tax dollars have been spent to grade, seed, and plant trees there to prevent erosion. To ride along the highway legally you either stay on the trail or ride parallel to the road on the right-of-way with the flow of traffic.

Food for thought: Most people figure that the laws or rules don't apply to themselves and they do whatever the **** they want because they are accustomed to getting away with it (to be honest, myself included from time to time). Fine. But if you plan to engage in all manner of jackass behavior in supposedly "secret" places, is it then wise to brag about it on the internet, invite everybody to come (possibly even law enforcement), do it in plain sight of everyone, and rub everybody's nose in the fact that you are probably placing a burden of liability on the land owner if you even have permission to be there in the first place? Maybe the smart thing to do is stay quiet or maybe even try to minimize your impact simply because it is the right thing to do.

Sorry for breaking my own rules by posting this.

For the record, those of us who actually make this "event" know the area better than the people you are referring to. (Whoever they are).
We know what we are doing, know where to ride and know how to do it.
Not sure the intention of your post but, you're barking at the wrong trees.
