If I am forced to crimp a wire, I use uninsulated connectors and use a crimping pliers that have a U shape on one side and a blade on the other that forces down into the U. Use di-electric grease on the wire before going into the connector. Shrink tube with adhesive inside completes the job. All this if absolutley necessary because of black wire syndrome. Insulated connectors and pliers that only dent the connector should only be used on stuff you are selling to someone you will never see again.Personally, I think there should be a law against crimp connectors in general, unless there is no other option. Nothing like a good soldered connection to complete the circuit.
