Thinking about buying a 4 stroke......

I see some guys saying well 4 strokes are hard to change plugs. Listen this is a whole new motor. Plugs no longer need to be changed. Do you change plugs in your cars or trucks every other week? The answer is NO! Most cars or trucks recommend you change them every 100k miles. This is probably equivalent to 20k miles on a snowmobile. So basically you don't change plugs on 4 strokes. You can in the off season if you want but its not something you have to do anymore. The trick is letting your motor warm up before shut it off. get it good and hot and you won't have any plug problems. There is no oil to foul them up.

True true plugs really are a 4s non issue but question had a catch asking trail side change difficulty & will always be someone who won't wait for warm up & foul a plug. I agree with you & never has happpend to me but is remotely possible maybe odds of 1 rider in a 1,000 off the top of my head or 1-500 & 4s plug fouling is rider misuse of warm up or a lot of idling in off season.

polarisrider1; Think he likes his Apex & does NOT favor Doo 4s. Can change plugs if you know what to do. He likes Yam 4s but took me a while to understand but it was late. lol

I had an Apex when I rode trails. Great sled for trail riding and never any issues in the 3500 or so miles I had it. I didn't change a belt, didn't change a plug, nada. You can't beat the Yamaha R1 engine in a sled.... PERIOD.
