Already enabled so doesn’t stop pop ups on Dee. 🤷‍♂️
Download Duck Duck Go and make it your browser of choice. It further enhances Safari. Then going forward all your Safari searches use DDG and not Google.
Another option, search DDG and when you open it it will likely ask you to make it your browser.

Issues of unavailability to the Discussion Board again all day Monday Jan 5th. Disappointing.
A complete day of lost communication in prime sledding season is not good. I’m not sure the Discussion Board is that important to the rest of the JD site business and profitability or problems would be fixed regarding the Discussion Board. Disappointing for sure lost time causes lag in current communication of posted topics turns into yesterdays news and lost communication time. Becoming the norm unfortunately🤷‍♂️

" I think the writing is on the wall " here is my thought on that and I'm not directing this response at anyone in particular and I hope what I am going to say doesn't upset anyone. I also am not claiming I know what's going on behind the scenes and its not my place to assume or think that I do. If we want to guarantee "the writing is on the wall" one easy way to do that is, don't post, don't participate. I for one am thankful the John Dee site still exists, I have said before...this site has its own feel, its a tight knit family with similar interests, willing to help one another out when a question arises, post our rides, experiences, pictures and for some post information that goes beyond snowmobiling. I'm not saying that other sites dont but John Dee has a very different feel and again not replicated. Obviously there is interest in this site when you have 200+ guests looking at the site but I wonder why at the same time there may be 2..3 or 5 members. Then you have all the members logged in that either have never posted or haven't in a very long time, some of which are long time recognized names who at one time posted regularly. If people aren't posting because they couldn't get on it when they wanted to, or to think that it is now yesterdays news and was pertinent that it was posted the day before and now is no longer important? sorry but I'm not buying it and if that is truly the reason why I think that's kind of sad and in a way pathetic. I am grateful for everyone who work behind the scenes to keep this site up and functional and again I have no idea the struggles or problems that are occurring behind the scenes and I am not about to pretend I do know. Yes its frustrating when the site is down, no more than it is for me when I cant get on my manufacturers or distributors sites, John never intended this site to be brand specific, never wanted any bragging or bashing and at times to some peoples dismay enforced the rules and more times than not let things slide. Then created "Barstool" where people could take their grievances which to be honest to you I'm not quite sure belonged here. There are forums here and instructions as to what to post on them that cover everything people would want to post. Again John's vision was a stand alone and I think it should stay that way. I again put a call out to all its members, past and present, lets keep this site alive and keeps John's vision for this site. Come on you guys and gals, we are all and we all were family here, whether we had our disagreements, lets all come back, start posting, as i'm sure most of us still ride and have something we can post, pictures, information... something that all of us including guests find interesting or helpful. Dee does not have to be bookface or cookie cutter websites like others, never was. It lies in our hands to return it to its glory and it can be done, takes some participation and I know you guys and gals are out there, lets bring it back!

Euphoric1, as has been mentioned, very few “members” logged in. People aren’t wanting to post or they would log in. I feel strongly that the pop up issue is likely tied to the overall world of IT activity going on. For the last several months this issue exists here, my emails have been bombarded with spam. Other countries are doing all they can to disrupt and try to make a buck on the US. I encourage everyone to get a ad blocker, you’ll thank me.
I use 1blocker which is available for android/windows and mac/iphone. Make sure you have a browser and search engine that fights against malware. Duck Duck Go’s ad of “I’ll be watching you” is very creepy but extremely on point as to what goes on with Google. They didn’t get big just giving you search results.
Back to us posters, I like my JD family and sure some of us are frequent commentators with the occasional person from the past chiming in. Quite frankly I think the information overload fatigues us all and you go quietly off to the side for awhile. Skirule has been a fricking blast to watch, learn, and share stories with as well as yourself and others contributing. If we could all live by one another I think we would have ourselves the best neighborhood in the Country!

It certainly seems as though the writing is on the wall, although, I certainly hope that is not the case. Despite the loss of our founder of this site, it is still a viable part of the community that has been built & still continues to see many visitors to the site. Members can't be logged on all the time for obvious reasons, but, that doesn't mean they are not here regularly. I as well as many others who have tried to connect via the discussion board lately to discover that it's not available is disappointing as we are not able to share new information or stay up to date with the JD family. I sincerely hope that the issues that are disabling the site will be fixed.

Thanks Heckler.... 1block is the only one I could get to work on my iPhone.

Sure, hope site continues. These sites might be a dying breed as more people use Facebook and other platforms. Myself I don't use Facebook or others. I used this site for many years. Little aggravating when you can't log on, especially when looking forward to some updates from the members.

It's always been a great site and something I look forward to looking at!

For me it’s the ads and non stop pop ups, it is frustrating.

i use to post a ton been around since shortly after John moved to Lake Linden, also where I live….now it’s a real pain with my iPad screen moving when I got to read or post, so I don’t much anymore. My thing was the journal updates, been almost 2 years since any.

it would be neat to see the family updates as we almost felt like part of it….

i agreed to be a moderator many years ago and was active policing and helping members and it was fun! Been years since I’ve “moderated” !

I’ve had to move 4 pop up ads for this post

Right on, let's keep this thing going. There's still no other place on the internet quite like it and even though some great features were lost with John, we still have this community.
