This warm up is not as bad as last year

I remember when it got to around 60 around this time last year for about a week.

Last year on ground hogs day we had a blizzard in Grand Rapids, MI. (dusting by yooper measure). The news is showing year to year pics of conditions on Ground Hogs day. What a variation from yr. To yr.

I have never seen birds in my bird bath in Feb., 3 squirels teasing my dogs in the yard like it is spring, about a thousand confused Canadian geese in the backwaters and tulip bulbs popping out next to the house all about 2 months early. All but throwing in the towel for lower MI. If a motorcycle goes by I am done.

Last year 2 days ago Milwaukee got dumped on with 2-4 feet of snow. Sadly this year it is 45-50* out

last year in the yoop during valentines day week we left runningbear lodge one morning and conditions wern't too bad but on the way back from iron river trail 2 was gravel and dirt until we hit the trail heading north 117 i think it is. then that night i was down with the flu and listening to the fat lady sing

Thats when we got a whole seasons worth of snow down here in 1 day!

Yeah, but that was President's day weekend, and that's still 3 weeks away! I remember riding from Ontanogan with no gloves on that weekend!

This warm up is way worse because we never even got any snow!! Heck no snow and 30's or no snow and 60?? Give me 60!

Last year was warmer but had more snow on the ground.Its been late October Early November for 4 months now.

Wow, Houghton lake still has open water.
Manistee Lake is still wide open with fishing boats on it instead of ice fishermen.

We are located at the mouth of the Muskegon River...so it never freezes right here. But it is uncommon to see a boat and an ice fisherman all at the same time in January. Had to get a pic!!

Huh???? Not as bad as last year???? Last year I had 972 miles by the first of Feb and this year I have about 10 (all in a ditch). I also rode another 762 miles after the warm up. Yup - this year is so much better...................

like i said in another thread. this yr winter will hit around mar 15 right when u think spring should be starting. and last till apr 15 just like back in the 80s and we will see at least 2 good size storms yet before its over.
