Thoughts and prayers to the families, co-workers and loved ones of the 5 who lost their lives at Molson/Miller Coors in such a selfless act of violence.

Agree. Just messed up. But who hasn't in the past worked with someone who you thought could have the ability to "snap".

Yep, sad to they are ones who should not have weapons. Notice I say "weapons", of any kind! Someone, at some time had to see signs, know of this type mindset, and behavior of this individual? Very, very sad that this continues to go on!

We have talked about things like this at work several times and we came up with the conclusion that Amercans are under way too much stress than the rest of the world

Just out of curiosity, what is causing all the stress for these poor people?

I wonder what Dr. Phil thinks?

It's easy to write this off as the guy was just a weirdo, nut job or misfit. That's the easy compartment to stick it in and move on.
I think we are shaped by each other from the day we are born.
In a way we are all responsible when this spit happens.

Perhaps so. I firmly believe it all starts at home, and there are way too many broken homes today. How ever I also believe that there is surly someone in these type peoples lives that has had to see some problems with them. As snobuilder said, "each other". But many are serious mentally unstable people. Sad, but so.

not just that, but IMO and I realize what the age was of the shooter but with todays rules and laws...etc we are basically also bring up a bunch of powder puffs, in todays age you have to be careful to not even stare at someone with cross eyes because you might hurt their feelings, people especially the younger generation doesn't or isn't being taught what its like to fail thus people not knowing how to deal with failure, I don't think there is necessarily more stress in todays day and age other than what you create for yourself, but its peoples inability to deal with stress any more because there are so many policies, procedures, laws etc... in place to make an excuse so you don't have to, and when people are thrust into a situation they cant deal with it. IMO

well considering they claim 70% of folks in the USA are in debt, and the fact IMO< we are running out of ways to vent off steam
think back to maybe when us older folks were younger and the things we did to Vent, that these days of one does is on video, the local news and you'd end up in jail for
that we all maybe did way back when without even thinking was wrong!

pressures to fit in have to be higher now than ever, with populations never having been so high ever where, and the distance between well off and Poor/ barely getting by, so far apart!

the world wide internet I also feel is a problem, it shows everyone what is out there, and they DON"T have, and see others that do, maybe making them feel even worse!

I am not condoning any of these terrible act's

But I do think, there some times honestly sort of understandable
I know for ME< I have had to deal with some rather ignorant folks in positions that effected my life and they were so rude and arrogant that I could see one going postal if they were a little closer to the edge than I am!
Think road rage, I'm sure most of us have experienced it, and maybe many times it was rightfully due, to some moron in the wrong!!
as I said, blowing off steam is getting harder and harder in today's world of everything MUST be politically correct, and on video, too!
Over maybe just SAYING what needs to be said !
and worse, some times doing what needs to be done, and it NOT happening!
due to no one wants to get involved or again, NOT politically correct!
how many times have you seen kids misbehaving and parents NOT doing anything and just kept your mouth shut, over saying something, ???
and why>?
we try and stay out of others business, until it comes back to haunt us!
then its too late, YET again, most times if you do say something you end up the BAD GUY!
twisted world we live in now!

OR how many times have criminals been caught and let go, only to re do worse crimes!

I don't have the answers to solve things, but I can see the reasons some times folks are under some hard amounts of stress, and if they don;'t have a firm grip on themselves I can see how they go over the edge!
as many are standing pretty close to the edge all the time
living pay check to pay check or WAY behind and live can seem hopeless when your in some bad times!

mental health issues are at a all time high, and prisons, don't help the mentally unstable when in there, they catch and release them once there time is up!

drivers lic needed to drive, but anyone can HAVE a raise a kid??
seems scary when you honestly look at it??

I agree completely. The younger generation is filled with to many excuses on why the can't succeed or overcome anything.

the Perfect Storm

I think there's many factors that result in the mass shootings. Factors that have only recently come together to form a society such as ours. I don't mean to point fingers here or single anyone out just stating my thoughts on the matter. To start with I have yet to see a report linking violent video games to real world shootings. I feel that after hours and days of blowing stuff up, shooting the bad guys, etc. that some of the younger minds are tempted to take it to the next level.

I used to work with a guy that was Bi Polar, depending on if he took his meds that morning would depend on how the day would go, meaning the kind of day the rest of us would have. I feel that today's Doctors are too eager to throw prescriptions around like confetti. Some of us are being helped up and others are being brought down. God help you if you're doing both and you have access to firearms.

We Americans live in an Entitlement Society. Some believe, as I do, that this is the best time ever to be alive on earth. Healthcare, abundance of food, freedom of religion, and the list goes on. We've never had it better. Which leads me to "everyone gets a trophy". Someone earlier mentioned the Helicopter Parents that hover around their kids as they work their way through the education system. The kids get rides to school cause the school bus is too crowded. Many have better phones than their folks have cause the other kids have them. I gotta believe that once these young people get out in the real world they're going to be disappointed that not everyone gets a trophy. Often times this makes them angry, certainly disappointed, and if there are other factors that contribute to violence then you have the Perfect Storm that's been building for generations.

I certainly don't have any answers, I don't think anyone does, least of all the politicians and media. Societal Norms have certainly changed in the last 50 years and not necessarily for the better.

Again, not pointing fingers here, just venting a bit and am glad for the opportunity. Be safe, be vigilant, and hope for better days for us and future generations.

Yeah, well, as in this case, and way too many others, you get shot. Sad, but so.

go back a few generations now, and kids grew up playing cowboy and Indians, and war /Army games pretending to shoot each other, grew up playing with toy guns, moved onto REAL guns, almost every house hold had guns and they were NOT locked up in safes!
there were different MORALS and Values, and mind sets IMO< that are missing today.
of many reasons, and IMO a lot comes down to spoiled kids!
for decades everyone wanted there kids life to be better then there's(still today)
but at tome point, I think we crossed a line , as countless kids are living better than there parents are, due to grand parents and others spoiling the kids!
which as pointed out, come REAL world living on there own, many find out they are not prepared for the REAL world
or Worse, they get jobs handed to them by THERE parents/family, where they again do nothing but make better than average wages!
never learning the value of money or hard work, or PRIDE In doing something well.

this sure seems to be the issue's in MY area. any how
when I had my business, I couldn;t tell you how many KIDS,/young adults would tell me right of there parents PAY them to do almost NOTHING, just because the parents had the means to do so!
and they were proud of it!
I even had one kid(early 20's) tell me his father disliked him so much, he paid him to stay away from the rest of the family, , gave him a new car every yr, paid a HIGH weekly amount to live else where!
and he wasn't alone on getting money from family or again nothing I know o!, just the only one that was paid to stay away from family LOL

I do think there is a fix for this, and that is parents maybe needing to take a step back on spoiling there kids! BUT the problem NOW is, were a few generations deep , as many of these parents doing the spoiling, were also spoiled kids, so to them they see NO harm in what there doing!
which is why I stated above , the distance between the upper and lower class is getting so far apart! more so than ever IMO!

we need to maybe going back to kids and adults having more pride in themselves and shame, and stop maybe viewing everything as a joke or a one liner!

lets face it, folks do stupid things today and everyone laughs, and sadly, its NOT funny what many of the things are so many laugh at!
we become numb to far too many things, and everyone seems to want to be famous for doing NOTHING, or doing more and more extreme things!

maybe we should stop rewarding folks for doing NOTHING! as start to trying to solve things! just my 2 cents!

Makes you wonder what made him go off? Working that long at a job that im guessing is decent as a electrician and getting fired? New management? Family troubles? I have never worked at a large company, But have many friends and family that do, seems like all it takes is a new boss to ruin a job where people were happy. Sad deal

Could be a victim of modern day performance punishment where there hardest workers just get more work heaped upon them as a reward while they see the suckassed slackers drift through the day as one a managements fags.
