Throttle extension

Does anyone know where I can get a throttle extension (or a longer/fatter replacement throttle) for my wife's sled ('02 Ski-Doo MXZ 500)? Due to an old hand injury her thumb gets tired and sore after a half hour or so of riding. I've installed some after market ones on my ATVs and they work great but it seems those won't attach well to a sled. I am also guessing you will lose most if not all the effectiveness of the thumb warmer. Trade-off I suppose. Maybe she needs something rigid or padded over the thumb as a barrier.

I did some Googling for something last season but struck out so much appreciation for any help!

Google "left hand throttle snowmobile"
Leftys
Goldfinger
Powermadd make something

A good electrical Tech can make a left hand warmer work in parallel with the right hand warmer.

Maybe try to just turn lever around to pull with fingers not push with thumb.Thats what I had to do when I cut the end off my right thumb, some years ago.

Heard of a twist throttle option also, like motorcycle. Unsure of where to get it, but it's out there somewhere.

There use to be an item called the "Thumb Thing", it was worn to reduce fatigue in the thumb. I don't know if there is anything out there available or for that matter if it worked well enough or not. Short of putting on a left hand throttle, I don't know what else I would recommend other than perhaps having her grab the throttle a little closer to the base of her thumb.-Mezz
