What brand tire do you guys recommend for cruiser style bikes. I have been running Dunlops for a long time and " Treads and Sleds" suggested "Metzelers" any suggestions? This is for wifes bike rear tire.

I liked Metzelers when I had my bike as a 2 wheeler, now triked and I am runing Mitchelan Front and rear.

I've always had good luck with Dunlops

I have always run Dunlops but just put a Metzler on the front. No miles on it yet so can't really say much about it.

You will notice a difference(a little better) in the ride with the Metzelers...and they handle great but they do wear quite a bit faster than the Dunlops. Ive gone back to the Dunlops pretty much due to the wear factor.

That is what I was wondering. This outfit somewhat baited me in by location and referral from the crotch rocket crowd. Got their and they stated that the Dunlop D404 in the size we have is an odd ball size (stock tire from factory) and that they could get me the Metzeler tire in that size still. So I said okay since the tire was already off the bike. Then they tried to sell me a front tire which is still at half life. I said, NO to that. Wife rode the bike about 120 miles yesterday on the new tire and she said it felt fine. We will see on the wear. She got 10,000 miles out of the Dunlop and she frequently has a rider or pulls her doggy trailer behind when going to the boat.

Andy, keep me updated on how the front tire works out for you. I will still go with the Dunlop wide white walls on my bike just because of it being a FLSTS.
