Do you need them for a particular purpose? If so, measure the additional height needed to accomodate what you want to do, and try it out. Worse case scenario, you can return or sell them if they don't work, but I think you'll get a better idea if you try them yourself vs having others direct you on whether or not to put them on. Just my .02

no particular purpose really

Pardon me for my ignorance, but I don't understand the question.??

The whole purpose of risers is to fill a need. More leverage/comfort, while standing up (ie: powder riding) or you are a tall person who achieves better comfort with taller bars, while sitting. If your doing it for aesthetic reasons, your doing it wrong, and your wasting your money.

3 or 4 inch?? Which ever is more comfortable for YOU personally!

I put just a 2" riser on my 2001 Yamaha and it made a world of difference. Much more comfortable sitting and standing. Make sure you have enough cable length to go the height that you want.

It really is tough to find a happy medium! The riser that works excellent for stand up trail and ditch riding is typically a bit tall for sit down trail riding. Also the Edge chassis has a very low seat height and soft seat foam. Be sure you do not mind the ape hanger effect if you throw 4" on top of stock unless you are 6" plus. Also if you are 6' plus you will find that 4" is too low for stand up trail riding!

I think the best compromise is to run some adjustable's. Especially on the traditional style chassis's. Maybe a Rox 4-6? Also the stock bar has a very strange bend. Add an RSI bar, hi power grip warmers and cable extensions and it will be done right! Browse around at some pics of Modded Edge Chassis sleds to get a better idea of what you want for a finished set up and roll with it!
