Hopefully another gas station/convenience store as the current one across the street gets blietzkrieged on weekends. Wow you pull up there on a Saturday & you might be there a while. Should be tanks in the ground already as they used to offer gas.

I know nothing about the situation, but it sounds like there was a fire and the building was a loss. Wouldn't the insurance company pay for the removal of the burnt down building?

Love me some good specualtion.... It had just recently been sold to a new owner. People in the apartment heard three "explosions" and then black smoke.... I am not saying anything.....

Well I heard its going to be a senior center for snowmachiners... So I'd guess there's going to be a parking lot full of two upper deluxers with grandpa windshields waiting at the Mobil before they even open...

I would be surprised if anything goes in there anytime soon. The Mobile station is packed in winter, but the other 8-9 months of the year the town is very slow. Not sure they can really support 2 gas stations much less a convenient store the size they used to have. It will be great to see that building gone.

1 can only assume the owner took his insurance check and ran like crazy from that loosing investment . then the city attempted to go after said owner for cleanup and he said go pound sand I like the lot that way. the city foolishly ends up taking the land for tax forfeiture. takes down the rubble. no one in there right mind buys a old 1 time gas station that is no more. in 1o more yrs the city sticks the tax payer with the huge EPA tank removal bill.

I've been driving by the past few weeks working on Lake Gogebic. The lady at the gas station told me there was some issue with the insurance money because they thought the fire may have been deliberately set. I thought I saw the BBB was for sale too?

BBB has sold to Becker's son, apparently they are just working on getting everything transferred over. The Hoop is also up for sale.
