Lincoln County Zones 1, 2, and 3 have been closed....it goes without saying...but the trails have been shot for 2 weeks...very little snow out there....unfortunately...unless we get a BIG spring snow storm...I think we are done. The 10 day outlook calls for a bit of light snow Friday into Saturday...not enough to fix the trails (or reopen closed ones)...AND....by this time next week they are calling for temps in the low 50s....So this will probably be my last report for the season...hopefully next winter will be better...this year...I put on a whopping 300 miles, and the trails on the south side of town were only open a total of 6 weeks...Just a crappy winter.
Have a great spring/summer.....see u next winter!!

Feel for you guys.

I was concerned about the forecast for an El Nino Winter. We did good and still doing well up here in Bayield although we got a late start. It will get tough up here going into next week and beyond unless we get 8-10" mid-March.

Not complaining as I hear from all our www.woodsidecottags.com guests from all over Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois and Iowa how crappy trail conditions have been in their area.

FWIW, I read earlier that the Winter of 2017 may be more normal and actually the opposite of this year. One can sure hope!!

Those complaining from Minnesota must not have gone to northern Minnesota this year. Its been MINT since Christmas on the north shore, and MINT west of there since mid January. First time in 20 years I haven't ridden in Sconnie......

Thanks for the updates throughout the season Attak man. Definitely came in handy when trying to figure out where/when to go during this challenging winter!

Just heard that Oneida County is going to try to stay open till March 14th. Getting a little snow now but Northwoods Passage will not be grooming. With the warm weather coming it just wouldn't be worth it. We will be pulling the markers off the lakes on Monday March 7th. Just not worth it to leave them out there any longer and risk someone going through.
Drags are greased and up on blocks for the summer and the machines are getting washed and stored away as well. All except for one with the brush hawg on it. Going to be out this weekend brushing the swamps before the high temps come.
