We ended up with 8 Plus inches of snow in the Tomahawk area from yesterdays storm....there is anywhere from 8-11 inches of new snow through out the northwoods...Riding should be excellent any direction you go from Tomahawk...some of the wet areas are freezing up, and are better than they have been....AND....it is currently snowing as we speak (expecting 1-3 today)....A couple of things to watch for....some moron has been running down the markers on the lakes (mostly Lake Alice)...the clubs are working to replace them before the weekend...if you see anybody doing this..please call the sherriff's department....the clubs will be out and grooming the trails to hopefully get them all set for the weekend...with the expected cold weather the next 3 days...these trails could be flat highways by the weekend....right now...there is a lot of drifting on the lakes, and open areas...so be careful (we had 40 mph winds for 4 hours last night). That's it folks...it's pretty darn good out there..get out and enjoy it.

Bryan prob knows this area as well as the next and not trying to hyjack the post but IMO Tomahawk is everything I think of when I think snowmobiling. Mostly wooded twisty well marked trails with an abundance of pitstops and places to stay where everyone makes you feel welcomed. If you wanted to PM me, I could recommend some places by name.

Try...Motel Nokomis, or Super 8 or the Roadway Inn...better call soon rooms will book quickly....we have mostly wooded trail riding...very good signage, with lots of pit stops and gas stations...you can head any direction from Tomahawk...lots of different routes to take...I think you will really like the trail system here....BTW...it's still snowing...add another 2 inches to yesterdays 8 1/2....we are now at 10 plus inches!!!

I have a nice 4 bedroom cottage on Manson lake just east of Tomahawk that I rent out. The snowmobile trail is at the end of the driveway. there is plenty of room for snowmobile trailers. The driveway is plowed and the heat is on. Cheaper than a motel for two rooms. Give me a call or text at 920-707-3259. I have openings at this time. Greg

I like staying at Twin Bay Resort or Wild North Saloon. Both have a bar with great food on site.

Trails were awesome this weekend! That's the most snow in have seen up there this early in the season in years. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next week or so. The Northwoods can survive a warm spell. I just hope that we don't get much rain.
