Was up north fishing this past weekend...Lost a lot of snow the past few days. This would really make things nice, however the latest of what they are saying around here(Eau Claire) the bulk of the snow is supposed to be south a long a line from Mauston to Stevens Point to Green Bay..Darn it!! O well might have to ride south for a change if we can pick up enough to get our trails back open here... I came home to grass showing thru in a lot of spots yesterday so its gonna take a good bit..

I know the area....I grew up in Rib Lake/Spirit area near the Price/Taylor/Lincoln county line..Looks like they're starting to push the warnings north a bit over here in Eau Claire..Either way looks like we are all gonna get something anyway.

Just got back from Tomahawk. Worst conditions I've seen in the area in a long time. 2 days of almost 40* destroyed what little they had left. Headed NW up towards Willow in some hope of finding better but only marginally improved. Swamp lake area was a mess. Hope this is one of many storms to hit because they need it badly.

Well...good news...it's snowing...and snowing hard right now...just started....NWS still saying 6-10 for here...if we get it trails will be very good for the upcoming weekend....I will update this later with snow totals, and hopefully some pics tomorrow (maybe even tonight)

Please let us know. We have a place to stay in Tomahawk, but am hesitant to commit with the feedback on the trails over the weekend. Don't want to waste our time.

thanks

The trails have been thin but rideable all winter...I guess I don't know what people expect when I say "mixed bag"..."fair to poor"....especially with Temps in the 40s for 3 days....let's see what this storm brings us.....the lakes have plenty of ice (though there is some slush in spots).....I would say if we get 4 to 6 you would be good to go....anything over 6 would make them very good....and trust me I lean on the pessimistic side...I won't ride my sled in dirt (or warm weather with thin trails)...some people don't care...but I do.

Btw....snowing like mad right now already on our way to 2 inches and the heavy bands aren't even here yet..just heard from..a friend of mine just about 40 miles south of me has 4 plus inches and it's still snowing hard there as well. :)

Attak man - please keep the updates coming. I also am contemplating your area this weekend.

I appreciate your honesty too and also have similar standards when it comes to how much snow/temperature when riding.

Thanks!

I'm hearing about the same from the folks I know in Tomahawk. I was REALLY hoping they would get nailed with the 6-10" everyone was forecasting. Plan on heading back up on the 19th and hope to find some better conditions then. If not, might go further North.

The big snow failed us. I'll be riding around Nokomis this weekend I only get 4 days a month off work and I'm confident the Bergstrom triple points on our 4 sleds will survive the low snow and slides are cheap. Swampy hope to see ya at the beach I can taste Bobs burger.

Should be there at some point. Plan on grooming Saturday night. In MN right now. Bob's out now doing the Price County run.
Will be there for sure Sunday for Super Bowl. That is, of course, after the Northwoods Riders members breakfast at Bootleggers Sunday morning!! Yum! New members are always welcome.
