Trails held up pretty well over the weekend.....however...there is no snow in the forecast and another warm spell coming the end of the week and into the weekend.....so conditions can change from day to day...I not going to tell u not to come and ride...as I think there is plenty of snow in the wooded areas, and with colder weather expected tomorrow and wednesday...the clubs should be able to groom a bit...with warm weather the first trails to be effected will be the ones in town...like the railroad grade...any high traffic area....if you plan your routes out in the wooded areas...i would think you will still find some decent trails...but with warm weather.....conditions can change rapidly...so keep that in mind....also...roads, and road crossings will be bare, and you will find slush on the lakes.

So....if you have plans to ride this weekend...DO IT...the long range forecast doesn't look promising (rain and 40s the following week)...so...Ride while you can....never know...this might be it for us...I hope not...but it sure isn't looking good in the long range forecast.

Very good analysis of the trails and for the coming weekend. Overall the trails were really good in the woods in the area this past weekend. If I could make it up there this weekend, I would. This may be the end after this weekend. Ride while you can!

Thank you for the trail updates attack man. Do you know if they will try and groom at night this weekend?

Probably not....depends on temps...if it's too warm...u end up just pulling the snow and base off the trail.
Again...conditions will depend on traffic, and temps...the heavier the traffic, and the warmer the temps ..the quicker they will deteriorate....either way...after this weekend, and the warm spell...if we don't get more snow...it will be over.

Attak Man - thanks again for your report - was SPOT on. Made it up Thursday night for my 12 yo 1st ride. Thur night took it easy - as short 30 mile run for him to get a feel and grab some diner. Friday racked on about 140 with a lot more stops than I normally do. Headed west of the Willow Flowage into Price Co. Both the Moose Jaw and Polish Palace were great. Headed back towards the cabin with a quick stop at Bucksnort. Ended with about 50 miles on Sat before I said that was enough with lack of snow. My only complaint - and the warm weather made it worse, the amount of trails that had logging on it. I know, happens all the time, and some of the areas I wish I would have turned around because it was all mud and rocks.

Trails overall were better than what I was expecting - started off icy, then turned to slushy. Traffic was moderate but no close calls or reckless driving that I saw. Kid did really good. His hands were sore, but I think he needs to relax more while riding - that will come with time. The number of deer is greatly increased over past years - must have seen 30-40. Saw one recent wolf kill as well which sort of freaked out my son. This was in an area that has a decent population of people too.

My goal, introduce my son to snowmobiling, have some quality 1:1 time and bring him back in one piece. All were accomplished.

Was up there last week weds-Friday am. Left the cabin by Tripoli 8:30 Weds morning rode north to Mercer then over to Manny waters via. Fischer Lake. Trails were great, 200 miles. Stayed at Pea Patch weds. night rode north up to Lake of the Clouds then back south on the east side of Lake Gogebic then back into Wis via the Cisco Chain then ended up in Minocqua and stayed/Partied 290 miles Thurs..trails were great north but thin round Boulder/Minocqua(as expected). Rode back to Tripoli Friday morning via. the Buckskin and Lake Nokomis. All in all a great trip 530 miles in 2.25 days. Very glad we did it as it was 40 degrees by 9:30 am Friday when we got back to Tripoli. Obviosly this is the end of the season as the warm temps and now todays rain will put an end to all that's left. Another short season, they seem to get shorter every year. Managed to get 1000 miles total which is 1000 miles short of what I normally do. Thanks to all the trail clubs, groomer operators and those who volunteer there time to the sport. As a member of multiple clubs I see it getting harder and harder to find help as people are losing interest in snowmobiling with these mild winters we keep having...Till next year
