Tomahawk Update 2-7-17

Trails were in good condition as of yesterday afternoon....yes there are a few thin spots here and there, and some icy corners...but for the most part..the trails are in good shape.
We received a bit freezing rain and sleet today mixed with light snow (no rain though), and with low temps expected to be below zero the next couple of days and some grooming...the trails should be great by the weekend.

We are also expecting some light snow through the end of the week, and again Saturday into Sunday....Over all I'd say our trails area 7 out of 10 (even better in some spots)...watch the mud hole north of the Hog House (just north of Irma)...and again some icy corners. There are also a few some water hole ruts that opened up...but nothing major (you just don't want to hit them going 80).

I rode all over the northwoods and western U.P. the past 4 days (nearly 500 miles)...and can honestly say the Tomahawk area trails were some of the best I was on all weekend (only a couple trails in the western U.P. were better, and only because they had less traffic and more snow)...Tomahawk trails have held up nicely...So get out there and ride!! ;)

Thanks Attak man! I always look for your update to decide if I'm going up snowmobiling. Your reports are always honest and accurate. We will be heading up to Tomahawk Friday morning for some riding. Thanks again!!

No idea....Tomahawk is in Lincoln County (not price county)...we have different rules here...atvs are not allowed on most of the trails here during snowmobile season..there are some...but most of the atv routes follow roads...might be different further north and west...dunno?? ....i don't ride atvs.

I've been riding Price county for 25 years. I don't know of any snowmobile trails that allow ATV's. I think most likely they were not supposed to be there.

That's my bad! I should have stated Lincoln county. Okay, do the maps indicate what trails are available to the ATV's. We don't enjoy riding a wallowed out trail from ATV traffic.

Rode up through Tomahawk, Minocqua and Sayner this past weekend and was shocked at the good condition of the trails in the Tomahawk area. Had a great weekend! Hope this warm weather doesn't hit too hard up there.

Attak or Shooterz - either of you guys ride around the Willow Flowage area? Hope to head up on Thur night and at least ride Thur and Friday - Sat if still good. Staying on the north end of the Flowage.

Thanks in advance!
