Trails were in good condition as of yesterday afternoon....yes there are a few thin spots here and there, and some icy corners...but for the most part..the trails are in good shape.
We received a bit freezing rain and sleet today mixed with light snow (no rain though), and with low temps expected to be below zero the next couple of days and some grooming...the trails should be great by the weekend.
We are also expecting some light snow through the end of the week, and again Saturday into Sunday....Over all I'd say our trails area 7 out of 10 (even better in some spots)...watch the mud hole north of the Hog House (just north of Irma)...and again some icy corners. There are also a few some water hole ruts that opened up...but nothing major (you just don't want to hit them going 80).
I rode all over the northwoods and western U.P. the past 4 days (nearly 500 miles)...and can honestly say the Tomahawk area trails were some of the best I was on all weekend (only a couple trails in the western U.P. were better, and only because they had less traffic and more snow)...Tomahawk trails have held up nicely...So get out there and ride!!
