You will love the stay at Centerstone Resort (Best Western). The trail is right in their parking lot, and great trails all around. Not in town, so that's better. Believe me, you'll like it.

X2 there are several stops on trail and lake. If you want to stay in town I would recommend the Super 8. The main trail the Bearskin is accessed from their parking lot.
The trails northwest to the Willow area are nice. Also a ride west to Somo Lake is nice. Somo Beach Resort has a great burger called the sizzler. Boomba has a great fish fry and food. Twin Bay for a pizza. All in all you won’t be disappointed in any of the stops on Lake Nokomis.

I heard they closed for winter.

Yep. At least the snowmobile club doesn't have to worry about complaints from the neighbor about sleds running over their septic ... No, wait,
They still managed to go around the trail closed sign and run right across the middle of it!! Unbelievable. Seems like everyone is finding out how
good the trails are around here and we're getting slammed. Don't get me wrong, It's a good thing, but it seems we're also getting slammed with
the Idiots that like to ride around the "Stay on Trail" signs and some areas are starting to look like snowcross tracks. I can't believe the disrespect
some people have for other peoples property. No phone calls yet.....

It's the first place coming up north that has SNOW, snowmobile rentals, lodging, marked lakes, good places to eat AND good trails. Why drive 6 hours when you can drive 4?

Unfortunately, this hobby is always going to bring out idiots. They will be the first ones bitching when all the trails are gone, too. Trespassing fines should start at $1000. Give $500 to the landowner and $500 to the law. Hit the idiots where it hurts.

Ok so I will be off topic , but what is the deal with not driving over the "septic system on a sled" outrage?. I don't get it...Maybe a sewer system plumber can chime in.
If it is my system and sleds running over it is a problem as they come to patronize my business, I surely would have the stakes and caution tape in place early on......Especially if I have a marginally failing system that I am nursing along.

The issue with septic fields is when you drive or even walk a path over the field the compacted snow doesn't instalate the ground as well and can allow the frost to go deeper into the ground and freeze the field solid which stops it from working.

Sorry, even though dofo1 is correct about freezing the system or the chance of freezing the system, my point was just that somebody rode
across this persons yard. They just happened to cross the septic, but still... Ain't right.

The chance of the mound freezing are very low. I just wanted to put that out there. I have lived in houses with septics my entire life, including a mound currently.

Im not making excuses, what happened was wrong and should be punished by law if caught.

BTW I saw the pics on FB. They didnt do any damage to the mound or grass. But they did trespass and broke the law.

We just came back from tomahawk today... Nokomis Inn looked closed with parking lot full of snowdrifts. Sign said No Vacancy but no signs that anyone had been there in quite awhile
