I just love it when I show someone my cost on something then they look at me and say "ok how much better can you do?"

Chad,

LMAO exactly...the funny thing is they are serious. As you know that is exactly the mentality that helped me make a few choices lately, guess we will se how that works out for everyone in the long run.

Seems like the majority have gone to the bigger is better Home Depot/ Walmart mind set. They don't get that the products are NOT the same and service is Horrible at the big boxes. I feel for the poor John Deer & Simplicity dealers who are told to fix the junk mowers that the Depot sells since they don't even repair their own crap. You get what you pay for.

It's easy to say that but unfortunately the almighty dollar wins out most of the time. It's up to the dealer to make you feel comfortable and build a relationship with you so that you feel it's worth spending the extra couple hundred bucks. My dad always told me "your machine is only as good as your dealer". There's truth to that.

Chad66 - Your father was 100% correct when he said "your machine is only as good as your dealer".

Our dealer is good but I will never let them touch any of my stuff again. They are always so busy that I swear they literally throw these machines together in record time. Sad part about it is there always seems to be a problem that is never their fault of course.
I use guys that do work on the side and it always gets done right at half the shop rate which is about $75-85/hr Thats where all their money comes from. I could care less how much they "make" on a new sled.
