track porting??

yea put a 1.5 track on my brothers 90 indy 500 and we wanted to port it to lighten it up a little so that 488 liquid can spin it lol was wondering if there is some way to do this? any info would be nice thatnks alot

Well I don't know if this is the right way, but I used a 1" hole saw,(or whatever size hole you like) and after I drilled holes, took a propane torch to touchup the edges around the holes, worked out very well, 1200miles later track is ok.

we used a hole saw also but used a propane torch to get hole saw hot for every hole kinda melted rubber as it drilled.worth the extra time ? only you can answer that one

I am just guessing with a 500 indy you are mostly riding trails...........if that is correct you do not want to port your track. The idea of porting a track is to get the snow out of your track when you are riding the back country (less weight). For us that mostly ride trails we want to keep the snow in the track for lubrication and cooling.

You might want to chat with a few others before you do this (if you are mostly a trail rider).

good call, doing it in one step instead of two.
