my current sled has studs but i think im going back to non studded. my driveway and garage floor hate them. my sled spins so bad right now so i think im gonna get rid of the 1" studded and maybe go with 1.5" non studded. any opinions on that?

I personally like a 1" lug height and studs, as I ride trails and a local river.

If you ride off trail or in good snow conditions, a deeper lug track would work good, just that rubber doesn't help stopping on icy trails. Will lose some top end with deeper lugs too.

Studs on everything since they came with rubber tracks in '80. Safety thing with me. Have seen a lot more accidents involving un-studded sleds. Control for stopping and turning. Yes, they can be hard on trailers and concrete. Have noticed over the years that kids are way more destructive than studs.

I am not going to vote because to many variables for me. The sled I currently have doesn't have studs because of the size of the track (1 1/2) and studding isn't an option on it. But this is the first sled in 15 years plus that hasn't had studs. I have only had one track have multiple pull outs (about 10) but that track was on an 800 doo and also had about 8000 miles on it at the time. And it also didn't cause any other damage. It was really showing wear and needed replaced anyways. I never on any of my sleds have ever re-checked the torque either. I was really up in the air about taking the track I have on my current sled off and putting a smaller one on so I could stud it. And I still might end up doing that but not this year. I am a firm believer in studs but on that note don't have to much slip going on with my non studded sled either. And a good majority of riding this year has been in marjinal snow and icy corners.
