CAUTION!! Bill Nicholls TRAIL is Temporarily CLOSED in between the Firesteel Trestles and Twin Lakes. There is a sink hole is 3 feet wide and 4 feet deep and was still growing in size last night! Some awesome ORV'er found this, blocked it with trees and contacted us...Thank you to them for being so responsible! We will be at the site with the DNR today

Very cool that they blocked it. But what is with all the sink holes lately - no just in the UP. Seems like everything is opening up or collapsing depending on your point of view.

wow that does not look to bad
why close the the trail ?
u could drive around that very easy
plenty of room on both sides and not have to go off the trail
no need to close the trail imo

If the sink hole was still growing at the time of the picture, how do you know its not going to get any bigger???

How firm is the ground around it? I for one would not want to be the driver that ends up at the bottom when it gives way trying to get around it.

Thats a great & fast job by the DNR!

Thanks!

It better be fast, for the $36.25 permit, right!? :)I couldn't resist! I hope we see the positive results with these as we have with the snowmobile trail permits.-Mezz
