WOW that's something, I'd of thought the business generated there would be able to appease the noise issue. There is going to be some loss of income to several business's there for sure. I hope it's just a rumor, and not true. Have had more than a few good times on sleds on downtown Hurley.

I find that hard to believe considering downtown Hurley is a major "hub" for east-west and north -south trails.I bet it is a rumor

Probably should, if a town like Hurley is cracking down, many more are to come.

like Magnumb said he/we can only guess it is because of the noise, but regardless of the reason or location we all should be concerned when ever a major trail is closed, regardless if you have never rode that trail in your life or if you ride it every weekend. IF this is true hopefully the local club can get a reroute set up in time for next year as this closure would dramatically affect a LOT of riders, not just the ones that stop in Friday and Sat night for an hr. or two.

Skylar I have never personally meet you but I hope you rethink your comment, like I said above we all need to stick together to protect and properly promote the sport that brings each of us to this site so often!

on a side note $150.00 ......I don't think so, more like $15.00 or even $1.50 for some of them!

The section with postings of 25mph is the one in question. Maybe they can find another route.
Last time we left around 2am and did take it easy through that section as we were wondering where our dignity went:)
I could see how noise would be an issue as the trail cuts directly next to some buildings and i'm sure the noise bounces good.

I could also say i'm gald the gas station in town allowed credit cards to be used after closing....could have been a long night without that.

Reroute already there. From RR grade trail 15A to 15 to 77 takes you West of Hurley. A lot of businesses would be hurt.

I Been To Hurley once. Guess the bottom of the barrel girls end up there.
Anyways. ... We took a cab into town. The motel folks said way safer that way. No stolen sleds, no DUI's, no Wisconsin permits, etc. .Made great sense to me. Once was enough.
