Trail Pics from the Keweenaw

Well, I was actually planning on taking a spin on the sled to take come trail pics, but got busy with other things and had to settle for the "road crossing report", but I did bring a camera and took some pics. All pics were taken between 2 and 3 pm today, truck thermometer read 58 degrees, which was verified by by my weather station, which now reads 60!

Here is the trail just north of Hancock at the Lake Anne Rd Crossing looking north.

Here is the same crossing at Lake Anne Rd looking south.

A little further north, here is the crossing just north of Calumet by the old Northgate.

Further north yet, here is just south of Phoenix at the Hwy 41 crossing (looking north). Hey, some sledders!

Same crossing looking south.

So the bottom line is we are holding up pretty well, considering it is 60 friggen' degrees and sunny! I would venture to guess that trails only get better as you go north as they always hold up better the further north you go this time of the year.

Temps look to fall back to near freezing tonight and then back into the 40's tomorrow, but with clouds and fog. Cold arrives in the wee morning hours Friday. So our issues will be snow quality not quantity for this weekend.

wow, those look pretty good from what i've seen pics of a little south that Lenny posted.

I can't imagine if everyone trailers over the bridge this weekend :(

I'm sticking to staying south of the bridge.

Thanks for the pics!

Well looks like we are coming up Friday night we will either be riding a lot or riding the bar stools at Henrys (staying across the street so no driving)

We're going to Krupp's on Saturday and then staying at (I can't think of the name) that has a bar attached to the hotel.

Dang I hope that I don't have to drink all day and night! Maybe there is a good movie theater or something around? Perhaps an ice fishing guide? Either way its gonna be a mini vacation!

When you say you were north of the bridge, do you mean the bridge in the Keeweenaw? I'm not familiar with the trails in that area. What bridge is that?

Thanks

The Big blue one

The Bridge over the Portage canal.... That connects Houghton Mi. to Hancock Mi.

I thinks that's right!!!
Yes, we rode Keweenaw County today and some in Houghton County.....

Trails were Good

Thanks for adding your pics Kevin. Those were the type that I was hoping to get, but had to settle for the truck and not the sled yesterday.

Looks like you had a good ride. Bet the hand warmers were off!
