Trail Season Extension - woo hoo

Just saw the news that both Wisconsin and Michigan extended the trail season for two more weeks, thru tax day, April 15th. This was done in recognition of the existing conditions along with the upcoming cold and snow forecast and the economic shot at this time of year which is tough for businesses.

No additional funds for grooming, but as smooth as they are should still be great conditions. Remember, it is late season riding and a lot of your typical restaurants and resorts might be closed, so plan accordingly.

That's good news for businesses! That helps make up a bit for not being able to open until December 15th this year when we could have opened on the first for once!

X2, it seemed to have been implied that Johnnie got really sick of telling riders that Forest County doesn't necessarily close on March 31st. (I believe back in '96 the 100 Miler groomed until April 8th.)

Also, not a complete April Fools joke as I see in another thread John relayed the news that all Keweenaw Trail Services trails will remain open until April 15th (unless you find a closed gate).

I was like "what? Awesome!" then realized it was April 1st haha...But trails are still open on any year round sled/atv trail in the Western UP. I will be going out.

Had to type something on April 1st. Everyone wants to believe it so badly.

But, seriously, if there are trails that are open all year, conditions are great. Was in Mercer to Bessemer to Saxon area thru Monday, trails are in great shape and they are about to get dumped on again.

First job out of college took me to the big city. Never left, been here now over half my life, but in the five times I have moved I keep getting a few miles further away from Chicago (slowly trying to escape?)

Actually love it here; live in a rural subdivision and can't see another house from my deck, so have my own little bit of the northwoods in my backyard.
