Club members have been working hard packing trails, and re brushing problem areas....however there is a real problem spot in Lincoln County, Zone one..Trail 17, just north of the old Hog House bar, there is a swamp that is a disaster area...the 17 corridor may be closed from Hwy S (the Park and Ride) to Hwy J, until they can get a bulldozer in to clear that area...yes...it's that bad. (I saw the pictures today...couldn't believe it). Most of this was tornado damage from July...unfortunately you can't get back into this area until it freezes up (it's a huge wet, swampy area)..so they had no idea the amount of damage back there.
They are doing everything they can to get the trails open by friday...but there are some pretty bad areas.
Not sure when lakes will be marked...as of right now, they are NOT considered safe, and it is highly likely that trails will open and lakes will not be ready...so plan your routes accordingly. Snow is not an issue...there is at least 2 feet in the woods. (even more as you head north)...As soon as we get an offical announcement, I will post it here.
Just remember it's early season riding, so take it easy out there, and have fun
