Trailer Brakes

Putting new brake shoe assys in my 4 place trailer. Can anyone telll me how far to back them off to get them set right? They are the 7" electric style. Thanks in advance.

I did replace the whole ash. Just making sure I have them adjusted right. Someone said 6-8 clicks but that is too much. Thanksk

There's no correct number of "clicks". Adjust so there is just a slight amount of drag. Slight meaning not hard to rotate, but you know the shoes are dragging just a little. The new brakes will find their happy place in about 10 miles.

Tighten the shoes until you can't turn the wheel, this will ensure that both shoes are centered and out to the drum, then back off until the wheel is free with no drag. then adjust until you have a slight drag. If you have brakes that have automatic adjusters, that's it. If you have manual adjusters, it would be best to check/re-adjust after a couple hundred miles, and then periodically adjust to take up for shoe wear.
