Trailer Cover Repair

I have an older 10' Triton that has an aluminum cover/shell that I love, but...

Through the years it has developed minor holes, cracks, etc. I've already patched it using a variety of methods (some might make a Yooper proud). However, I think the time has come to do something a bit more drastic - if I can do it economically. The frame of the cover is in great shape, but I'd like to replace the 'skin' on it. I was wondering if a person can purchase the replacement aluminum 'skin' for it, or what other options there are?

I was considering a tough plastic but was concerned about about cost, weight and reliability. Has anybody done something like this?
Any suggestions other than the obvious of buying a new shell?

the steel yards around mpls stock alloy sheets I know at lest 54x144 used a few yrs back to repair a side of a buds trailer that got a hole riped 3/4 down the side back then the sheet was around 120bucks they had like 4 colors in stock.used the same style double side foam tape Triton used to put back on worked good we put on then used a rotozip to trim to size then silicone the joint and reinstalled edge band stuff.I am sure most steel yards carry or can get that thin alloy sheeting

Not sure anyone makes alum siding for homes anymore, but that could be a source.

Good suggestion to check with semi repair specialists for sources of material.

Not sure there would be a plastic that could handle a impact under extreme cold conditions.
