si if u were building a toy haller trailer that u planed on parking on the lots and camping for a few days at a time in co wy etc etc
what would you do for heat vented propane or electric baseboard mounted at the top of the walls run off a 5500 generator
will also have a roof heat ac unit but that heat is just for chilly fall am
a few of the units i have looked at u have to change orifface every 4k feet kinda lame
also with electric and a gen in the bed of the truck you never have to worry about not waking up
but u do have to have the gen running all night but hay you have to have the gen running to watch the 50 in any way

Go with the electric. We run just a little electric heater in our 30 foot travel trailer and it does a good job, even down to about 30 degrees. You could also go with a 2000 watt Honda generator, not to noisy, unless you need the 5500 for other uses.

If you are going to be sleeping in it I believe it would be much more economical to heat with propane than electric provided by a generator.

Bingo...gasoline is expensive...get a double bank of batteries and an inverter for the big screen. Who wants to listen to a big lunger going into the wee hours of the morning anyway?

Be careful with gas heater and venting...and the genset can put fumes over too...so be sure you avoid gasing yourself in either case.

Don't think it matters. How wet trailer gets all wire in walls and. 3 ft or more of floor.

Also thinking electric so when at cabin or other spots with power can plug in like when all rooms are full I can
just pay inn keeper for a hook up

Only thing I don't like about LP is the messing. With the orifac for elavation probably not a big deal once u do it a few times

wont condensation be a issue no mater what heat type u go with what do the toy hallers do i am thinking celutex insulation same lamanate coverd plwood the factory puts on and tall dimondplate baseboard prob sport court floor have a bud that can find extra cases of that stuff works great in my basment
guess a 12volt fart fan may be in order for when it gets home or what eaver
i dont think it will be loaded with snow filled sleds then unloaded and slept in to often poss if rummers of a betterpass or a huge dump 100 mi away but more like load at home drive to spot unload and camp for the time you are there load up and go home or hall toys in summer hay days camper etc etc

Assuming your vented vented gas heater is not pulling outside combustion air it will remove a lot of moisture as it exhausts and pulls fresh air into the trailer. Electric will not cause any drafting and moisture will be a bigger issue.

Set it up for both, those electric baseboards are cheap. The last trailer I build had extra wiring and blocking in the walls in case I came up with any more good ideas. Its easier to set up for 12v and propane that way its always ready to roll regardless if the genset starts, just hit the switch on the thermostat. I would assume you could change the orfice before you leave as I would imagine that 4k would cover most spots a guy would camp. Also with the moisture issues with heating and cooling I would assume you would want to run the heater the entire time you are camping and I believe propane is more efficient than fueling a generator. Also from what I learned your money ahead to sprayfoam the walls as 2" board foam isnt going to cut it for winter conditions. The last race trailer we built we used spacers on the wall studs to get about 4" of foam.

I had a infrared electric heater in mine and it worked awesome. It was on a pedistal and pointed down toward the floor. If i remember correctly it was $$$345.00 but I liked it better than just plain old baseboard heaters. Power it with a 2000 watt Generac inverter generator
