Trailer hitch camera

OK all you guys let me hear the pro's & con's to a trailer hitch camera. The one I am considering is a Swift Hitch camera system. Currently on sale from Gadget Shack for 219.00.

219 to hook up a trailer 2 out of 10 I am off and have to get in the truck to realign.those wedges that bolt under the ball also work great for about 30 bucks as long as you are close the hitch lines it self up.a bud has one and works great keeps it on all yr

Sportmans Guide has a camera system for $139.97 iBall wireless. Alot cheaper set a mental mark of where your truck and trailer are in align while going straight down the road. Wheel on trailer jack and you can move a few inches if your close and is cheaper.

I put on one of those safty back up cameras from Walmart like 3 years ago. It's wireless, and comes on when the back up lights turn on. Works AWESOME. I have it pointed down right at my ball, and I can back right up under the hitch every time. The first few times I did it with the buddies they wondered how I got right under it. The camera just mounts right on your license plate screws, and the wire hooks into the back up lights. Then the monitor is just a 12V plug in the cab of the truck or van or whatever vehicle. WELL worth the $100 I spent.

Thanks for the comment, I had looked at the type you discribe except my plate is offset to the side. I was interested in how it performed for you and you answered that question for me. Thanks

I got 1 on truck from factory. sometimes I hook up 3 or 4 trailers a day Once u own 1 u will wonder how u ever got by without it.

Thanks for your comments ,it seems that those of you who have one really like it. So I purchased an I Ball camera system, less expensive then the Swift Hitch and I should have it in a day or two. Will let you know what I think of it. Hopefully it will keep me from putting a dent in my new truck.
