Check with one or your local RV stores, I do know they make a towing mirror that slips right over the OEM mirror to extend your line of vision while they look like a stock mirror. I think the manufacturer name is CIPA-USA. I've used this style of mirror for some time when trailering both the 27' travel trailer as well as the enclosed 20' sled/toy hauler & they have been trouble free.-Mezz

mezz,
i saw some of those on line, and that is what i am looking for, but they say they dont fit over the accordion type that i have that were intended to extend
The local chevy dealer said it was the worst design ever and its been fixed twice but keeps freezing up...

I tried, didnt give it quite everything but didnt budge...

They are powered by an electric motor and gear driven (obviously) my buddies don't power extend either and we pull both of them out manually, it takes quite a bit to get them to go. Once you get it started moving they slide out pretty easy almost feels like the initial yank gives it momentum.

Buy a set of the non powered telescoping Chevy mirrors and put them on. You can still get them with turn signal, heat and power adjust, you will just have to manually pull them out. I put a pair on my 3/4 ton suburban, you just have to take the door panel off and its 3 bolts and an electrical plug. The manual ones are easy to pull out and will never freeze up. I did not replace the door switch for the mirror adjustment and it still operated the mirror without any issues.
