Trailers

Looking to buy a new or used 2 place enclosed trailer in the next 2 months budget from 3,500 to 4800, but not sure what to get. Leaning towards a hybrid or clamshell, but one of my snowmobiles doesn't have reverse. Was also wandering if brands really make a difference like Triton compared to R&R or Karavan, and also the best place to buy willing to travel to Wisconsin, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa and lower Michigan any suggestions

a drive on drive off sounds like the best set up for you not having reverse
it gets old manually getting them off a trailer, been there done that!
in your price range, you should be able to find a bunch of different types too

as for name brand being better?
Triton has a long time standing of making a very solid trailer
but so do many others
I personally would stick to a brand name, over some of the unknown's that are out there

my oldest aluminum trailer is 20 yrs old now, had to replace one axle and had to re do a few welds, and well lights

HOW you take care of them matters a lot in long life or not IMO

Triton excellent trailer for sure. To me clamshell old tech & don't like much as tall windshield may not fit inside and clam a pita to use. What nrbb says about drive on drive off is true for you no reverse but don/doff enclosures can bend & over complicated. I would install reverse not expensive & go with Hybrid if this means Trition with drop ramp rear door. More boxey to tow but super easy to load & unload.

Vanam makes good quailty clamshell trailer not expensive at all located in western MI on lake MI build to your order deal direct no middle man easy drive for you from home.

I have owned many cams over the yrs. the 1 thing most share is how bad they suck to open when full of snow and the melted then iced layer on top U have to pound off from inside. the flow open diff but they suck to close when iced and some times to open when frozen. also I hate the oil bath hubs.
but as far as brand to brand triton has the name has the best ramp but others now days are just as good. only real diff I saw last yr when shopping for my new hybrid was the triton had galvanized axial that is nice.
But I went with the snopro and kept the extra grand in my pocket .
thing with alloy trailers keep em 3or 4 yrs how ever longu want to deduct them then sell for about 15% less than u paid new. play it right buy in the spring and sell for eve money 3 yrs down the road in the fall.
only thing u will buy in this deal u wont loos your ars on .
if getting a clam don't mess up and buy a tilt huge mistake and it will cost u money in the end and frustration during ownership. the drive on drive off is so much more ez especially by your self

Glad to hear this was going to ask if anyone knew if caps available separately for existing trailer a guy has. I did send an email to them on their contact page.

They all should sell cap separate problem is finding a dealer that wants to mess with it and install. VanKam good choice just need to bring trailer to them no middle man.

Check to see what Funks trailer sales has. They are in Morris at RT47 and I80. They wheel and deal and reward cash buyers.

Have been talking with VanKams would anyone recommend the drive on and drive off trailers by them

Yep same conclusion I came to after talking to them and viewing their used clam shell tilt trailer....I hate tilts not for single handlers like me. Axles, tires, lights stuff like that all common stuff bought by all trailer OEMs..... VanKam great band for the buck.... no middle man.

I think I have decided on a 2017 SnoPro Hybrid 12 foot trailer. Does anyone have any reason why they wouldnt buy one?

The SnoPro is about $1300 cheaper than the Triton equipped the same way and I cannot find any reason to justify spending the extra money on a Triton.

Thanks for all the input everyone has posted it has helped educate me on my buying decision

I got 1 last yr fine trailer . pay the extra 700 and get the extra axel. only things better on triton hybrid were the galvanized axle and zerks on hinges and bigger f door. I really like mine huge upgrade from the triton clam I had
