And to be FAIR to John, the information from him was over a week ago, so if they made the decision to extend recently then his info was prior to that. So he is in touch with the club

Actually I did check first and that's why I posted. I posted to give people valuable info. I confirmed it again after your comment just to make sure there wasn't a mix up. Please do not judge me. You do not know me and I'm a very honest person. I have called and confronted many individual's for riding on private property. You're making it personal so if you have a problem with me personally simply call or stop by and we can discuss that issue. I never pointed fingers at you so don't point them at me. Next time I get information I'll try and do a better job of where the information came from. I'm not a dealer that tells people to do things they shouldn't! Period! Have a great day radsrh:)

I apologize to you one little thing that would have helped would be to state it is a one week extension and trails close next weekend. Have had MANY A ISSUE with people using the trail year round. Including a very large truck mudding with very large tires tearing the crap out of my road. Again I am sorry

I understand. I promise I will do a better job next time. I know the frustrations with people who do not listen and it makes me as angry as it makes you. I'm sorry I wasn't more specific, I should of been. No worries:)

I just got off the phone with the powers that be and all non-ORV trails from Toivola north to Copper Harbor are closed to snowmobiling. This is due to easements and insurance ending midnight on the 31st. The Bill Nichols trail (Mass City to South Range) is an ORV and would thus be legal to ride on.

Not sure how the folks south of Toivola are working things with easements and insurance, but can say that any trail north of the bridge to Copper Harbor that is not a designated ORV trail would not be legal to snowmobile on. I am not sure if or which trails north of the bridge are designated ORV, but please check folks.

Of course there is the chance that the powers that be that I talked to somehow did not get a message that there was this one final week, but I am out of town and cannot call the DNR to confirm exactly what the scoop is.

We will just stay home and ride on our own land.. I will pass this info on to my web site so good people do not get mad and upset over the little things.. Have a good off season. BESAFE and LOVE YOUR Neighbor.......

I actually used the internet to get the local DNR phone number and am awaiting a call back from them to get the lowdown. As soon as I hear from them, then I will post it here.

Well, I heard back from the DNR and persons can ride snowmobiles on any trail that is both a snowmobile trail and ATV trail. So my best advice is to pick up an ATV trail map and cross reference that with the snowmobile trail map to see where it is legal to ride. The bottom line is almost all the snowmobile trails in the Keweenaw double as an ATV- key work being ALMOST. So pick up a map and have at it boys and girls! Still tons of snow on the trails.

This is for as long as there is snow on the ground not just this week.

Also I am sure the unplowed Forest Roads in the Ottowa National Forest are open as long as there is Snow on them so that is another option. We all know a lot of the Riders that are on this Web Site Ride off Trail and if its Legal to ride where you ride before it would still be Legal now, correct?

Just got back from the Keweenaw just over 300 miles of PURE MICHIGAN.....Complete with a "pit stop" at the bug bar......
