Trails still good to ride in the U.P.

Update to yesterday's report under "Ride this week"...Today (3-20-19) we rode from Copper Harbor back to Calumet, basically good trails, few sleds, still wet soft snow but there were no expected morning crispy trails as the temperatures did not go under freezing as had been predicted on the TV. Except for the temperatures, we would rate today's ride as 9+. In Calumet we loaded our sleds onto the trailer and drove to Michigammie, then unloaded and rode up to Big Bay using trail-8 and trail-5. Again, a very nice and mostly smooth ride all the way, no other sleds seen. We did see the dead moose laying alongside trail-5 about 15-18 miles north of trail-8, FYI. Now we are hearing that temperatures next week might not be as warm as predicted, so additional grooming will likely occur when temperatures drop below freezing at night, and just maybe another week of riding opportunities will be present in Mich. as we enter the Spring Season. Expect to find bare roads of course.
