Also, anytime you have hills and corners it means you have variation in speed and when the flipper is going up and down so is the suspension thus creating the chop. We have a lot of great groomers in our club and they do as good of job as anyone so that is not the issue. It's mainly the traffic and snow which both are playing a major role in the conditions. I'm going out in a little while and will post what I see.

I hear all of you about grooming BUT you should have seen it in the 90s. A bad day now was a good day back then.:)

Now that the secrets out that is when I always bring the newbies and rookies, nothing like it for your fist trip to the UP. Mid week has ruined alot of people for riding at home.

the 90's?? How about the 70's. I remember riding two up back in the mid 70's on the back of my dads 76 Johnson 440, my bro riding two up on my ma's 76 400 Johnson. Looking back on it I now know why my parents didn't seem as pumped as my bro and I to go riding. I don't know how they did it. And I talking se wis. chiseld plowed fields for as far as the I can see.

My group always rides during the week. I rode over Jan 9th and 10th based out of Greenland and had some great trails. I was worried about heading up from Indiana on the prior Sunday, since it was 50 degrees and sunny the whole way up until just south of Eagle River. Here's a shot of the "spring ride" we had over those days....once you were out of town, the snow was great. And we stayed at Lenny's place, the old town hall. Awesome accommodations, I've stayed everywhere in the Keweenaw, and this was at the tops!

Plus, at that point in the season, the snow was pretty thin in the Houghton/Hancock area, so lots of folks were not continuing north much past Toivola or South Range, so more traffic south of the Mosquito could have been part of the problem.

Well lots of folks missed out then cause there was plenty of fresh snow all the way up to Copper Harbor on the 1st! The trails were the best we've ridden in a long time.

I just wanted to mention how smooth the trails are during the week. If you ever get a chance to ride during the week you will be in for a great surprise. Most people just see Fri through sun and that can be rough. If you haven't experienced mid week riding, give it a try, you may never want to ride weekends again. It is so flat right now, the groomer didn't even need to go out today.

X2 !! Just got back today.Rode from tue to last night.Did this twice in the last 3 weeks, and had great riding.....Saw a LOT of sleds headed north today, and once we finish plowing this snowfall we'll be heading back U.P. sat thru tues !! LOVE MY TRAIL PERMIT !!......LOL......
