That depends on a lot of things. There were over 60 washouts/sinkholes. Almost all of them are from just south of Houghton to Lake Linden and then over towards the airport. So areas from Calumet and Lake Linden north are fine and it is business as usual.
So if you were planning to come and stay in Houghton itself, then I would for sure check with the hotel next week. They have already fixed some of the issues on the main highways and should have that done pretty quickly. The less traveled roads will take much longer.
If you were planning to do things outside of Houghton/Hancock, then you should be fine, as areas like Twin Lakes and then from Calumet north are all fine.
I can say that the snowmobile/ATV trail from Hancock to Lake Linden has multiple, massive (30+ feet deep, 100+ foot wide) washouts and will take time to procure funds and then fix.
I guess the bottom line is, sit tight if you can. Check in late this week or early next week. What happened has never happened before, so there is no precedence to help determine how long things will take to get back to some kind of "normal".
