Triple dip LaNina....what the hell is this? going to dump record amounts of snow in areas? you mean it's not "climate change"? all I know is if acorns, squirrel and chipmunk activity is any sign of winter coming, we are in for it...FINGERS CROSSED!!!

We have noticed all summer the woodland creatures have aggressively been going after birdseed, nuts, and landscaping they never touched before!

The article I read said this will be mainly in the N.W. and northern Rockies...Not so much here in Wi...

well must be where your at, I had a lot of squirrels and chipmunks in spring time, but they all about gone now, very few acorns I can find on any of my oak tree's, apples and other fruit tree's have very poor masts this yr, corn fields are super dry and ears super small this yr here!
most of my deer this yr look almost sickly, super thin, as to yrs back
as all the food plots here are doing poorly due to almost drought like conditions!
even my bears are much thinner than normal yrs!
I still hope for a big dump of snow and lots of it,
but nature here isn;t showing any indication for a bad winter
and were sure due for one, been a while since we had a good snowy winter here!

The squirrels have been harvesting acorns since early June up here in Manitowish. We had decent snow last but i personally would to see an epic winter with huge snow. Call me crazy, but i love deep snow and seeing it come down in buckets while I burn some wood in my wood burner and save some money on my electric heat bill. I have four cords split to heat this year.

Hopefully it’s been cured for at least a year to maximize your heating effect.

What I know 30 years ago there used to be winter and snow on a line Wausau north then that line moved north to Tomahawk and graduated to north of Rhinelander currently. Idk why but if your snowmobiling Rhinelander is as close as you can get to semi reliable snow and groomed trails. If Wi doesn’t come thru we all pile into the western UP especially Greenland on north. It sure would be great to spread that snow down thru central WI again!
